Direct Hire position- Our client is currently hiring for a Service Technician to oversee and perform work in the Bakersfield California area. The Service technician will be in charge of 3-7 rigs at any given time. The service Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and demobilization of mud chiller equipment. Physical labor is required, must be mechanically inclined and must have electrical background along with Rig (Drilling) experience. Site safety and transportation safety will be primary concerns when overseeing work and rig moves. To be successful in this position, the service technician will ensure the equipment has zero failures in the field. Reporting directly to the Global Fleet Manager and indirect report to Head of Operations. The service technician is also responsible for supporting the office with billing information, work schedule planning and logistics.
• Be available to answer service calls and service equipment on an as-need basis
• Proficient communication and documentation of field conditions and service events to the Global Fleet Manager and Head of Operations. This task will require extensive use of Outlook, Excel, Calendars, OneDrive and smart phones.
• Be able to perform manual labor for a 12-hour shift
• Willing to learn basic concepts of mud cooling and operating procedures
• Have experience leading small crews (3 man crew)
• Have hands-on experience working on drilling rigs
• Be thoroughly familiar with oilfield and electrical safety
• Be proactive and thorough in all job related task
• Willing to travel and work weekends
• Eligible to travel to Canada on an irregular basis
• Experience with servicing refrigeration equipment or electrical systems will be considered an advantage when applying for this position
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required – high school diploma
• University Level education will be considered as an advantage over other candidates
• Working knowledge of the Office 365 Suite, computers, and smart phones
• 3-10 years of oilfield experience
• Rig (drilling) experience and electrical experience a MUST!
